Dr. Phillips graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1990 with a bachelor of science degree in biology. In 1998, he received his Doctorate from the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, IN.
Dr. Phillips is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. He is an active member of the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association and the American Optometric Association. Locally, he is a member of the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce, Eugene Springfield Professionals, past president of the Mid-Oregon Exectuive Association, and current president of the Lane Optometric Society.
Dr. Phillips and his wife, Jennifer, moved to Eugene in 1998 so that Jennifer could pursue a graduate program at the University of Oregon. Like so many others that move to Eugene, they found that after a few years of experiencing the unique culture, activities and climate, there was no leaving. They have two children and a hairy dog.
Dr. Phillips is a primary care specialist who enjoys a wide range of modalities including comprehensive exams, contact lens fitting, diagnosis and management of ocular disease, surgical comanagement (cataract, lasik, etc.), pediatric and geriatric exams.
